A Day in the Life of a UST Student [Video]

A Day in the Life of a College Student With Marwa Awad ’17

7:30 a.m.

I woke up an hour and a half later than I should have but I’m awake and that is all that matters. Before I rush out the door, enjoy a 10-second video tour of my dorm room so you can see what a residence hall at the University of St. Thomas looks like. Cleaned my room 10 minutes before I took this. You’re welcome.

10:50 a.m.

Getting ready for my Resident Assistant Interview. I ended up getting rehired (no surprise). I was still pretty nervous, however my interview went really well!

12:10 p.m.

International Economics with Dr. Pierre Canac. Like I said, this is actually pretty interesting, however that class was a review day before our test. Which I aced (not really, but I passed so….).

2:00 p.m.

Desk shift at Guinan Residence Hall. I basically sign guests in, receive packages and make sure everyone in the building is accounted for. And have my friends bring me food.

3:00 p.m.

Pedicures with Alexis.

3:30 p.m.

Alexis’ shoes are tragic.

3:45 p.m.

Grabbing lunch in Crooker between classes is always packed, however I made the executive decision to get gummy bears for lunch so no sweat.

4:00 p.m.

Model United Nations officer meeting with Saud (aka Soda), Beth, Carlos and Alexis (again).

4:20 p.m.

MUN meeting is over, and so is any future use of Carlos’ hand.

5:00 p.m.

Picking up the on-call phone before I go to class.

5:15 p.m.

Before I go to my second class of the day, I sit with Carlos and Beth and then make Carlos my cameraman….he sucks at this!

5:30 p.m.

Marketing with Dr. Shuoyang Zhang. This is one of my favorite classes this semester because Dr. Zhang is super cool and has openly expressed how I’m her favorite student (Ok kinda, not really, she never said it, but I can sooo tell).

7:45 p.m.

RA meeting with my fellow RAs and Julie. As usual I always sit to Lexi.

9:00 p.m.

Wonderful Wednesday. Basically a hump-day celebration at night with free food and you get to hang out with fellow residents. It’s pretty great. We knock on doors (well PL does anyway) to remind residents to come out.

9:30 p.m.

Res Council meetings are always this cool.

10:00 p.m.

Birthday celebrations with staff. Shout out to all the Pisces.

1:00 a.m.

Finished all my rounds, and I got ready for bed. I didn’t end up watching any TV, just passed out on my bed. Hopefully I wake up on time tomorrow.
