Focus on Alumni

LinkLeeMansion-featureLast year, many of you completed an Alumni Attitude Survey. Thank you for taking the time. The feedback you gave provided the University with valuable insights.

Part of what we learned was that we can do a better job keeping alumni informed about what’s happening at UST, and when we reach out, it shouldn’t always be about money! We also learned that many of you feel that UST does a great job preparing students for life but can do a better job preparing them for their careers. We received your feedback loud and clear, and we have taken action.

After much discussion, a strategic decision was recently made to move the Department of Alumni Relations and Office of Career Services into the Division of Marketing and Communications. The benefits that will be borne from this new Division, known as Marketing and University Relations, will be many.

The move is not about new management, nor is it reorganization simply for the sake of change. This move is all about leveraging the power of UST resources. The marketing team will provide valuable support in keeping alumni aware of current events and happenings on campus. In turn, the marketing team is well aware that alumni are the most influential factor to prospective students considering UST, and equipping alumni with up-to-date information is imperative.

We also know that students can benefit greatly from engagement with alumni and the business community to learn about career paths and develop networking opportunities. Career Services, Alumni Relations and Corporate Relations are teaming up to create increased engagement across all of those areas.

As these consolidations take effect, now and through the spring as part of the restructure, we hope you will be pleased by the results.
