Fearless Celts!<\/p>\n

In the spirit of building a fearless culture of positive change and to better serve our students and community, I would like to begin a process for investing in the innovative ideas of our exceptional Celt community (faculty and staff).\u00a0In order to accelerate exciting new initiatives at our beloved University I am calling on you for help to identify dynamic, new opportunities that we could embrace to move us forward toward our collective vision.\u00a0I am pleased to announce the Celt Innovation Competition (Celt\u2019IC) to solicit, evaluate, and\u00a0FUND<\/strong>\u00a0new ideas.<\/p>\n

While the full process and parameters can be found in this document<\/a>, it is key to note that the deadline for submissions is November 1.\u00a0While\u00a0I know that is a quicker timeframe than some in higher education traditionally use, I have every confidence we can move expeditiously to capture the energy and enthusiasm that is so tangible within our community. In order to spur creativity and the collision of ideas in an interdisciplinary manner characteristic of our liberal arts and Catholic intellectual tradition, we are scheduling two brainstorming sessions with dates and times to be announced.<\/p>\n

This is a moment to come together and leverage the gifts and abilities that abound in our Celt community. A moment to show the world what Houston\u2019s Catholic University can do. In the 1920s, Saint Maximilian Kolbe used technology to build the largest Catholic media apostolate in human history from his humble home in Poland. I know that with the resources we have, the great minds of UST can achieve anything. I look forward to hearing your ideas, and to the ultimate results of the Celt Innovation Competition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
