As we journey together under the banner of Greater Things, we have been met by remarkable acts of generosity. We are proud to share that more than $25 million has been raised, including the two largest gifts in the University\u2019s 78-year history. These transformative gifts are a cornerstone in our efforts to expand student housing, recognizing that our campus is not just a place to learn but also a sacred space where students enter an era of formation academically, socially, and spiritually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such transformational gifts ensures that UST can meet the needs of its growing community and deepen its Catholic mission. It is through blessings like these that we see the power of prayer in action, a fitting reminder of God\u2019s hand guiding our path during this Year of Prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n

MORE THAN A RESIDENCE HALL<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new facility will not only address our on-campus housing needs but will also create a welcoming home away from home for more than 400 students, fostering an environment of fellowship and faith. By increasing campus resources and student support systems, our students will gain a stronger sense of belonging and connection that is so vital to retention and success. As Houston\u2019s only Catholic university, UST understands that living in community allows students to fully engage in campus life, immersing themselves in opportunities for academic and extracurricular success, prayer, and spiritual growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AREAS TO ENCOURAGE PRAYER & REFLECTION<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new residence hall will provide not only state-of-the-art living spaces but also thoughtfully designed areas that encourage prayer and reflection in addition to their academic pursuits. At its core will be a beautiful chapel, serving as the spiritual heartbeat of the building and designed with dedicated spaces for small group and individual prayer to ensure that students can encounter God in every corner of their lives. These intentional features reflect UST\u2019s deep conviction that a university education is about more than intellectual development\u2014it is about nurturing the soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
