\"GIVINGDAY_600x300\"On April 28, more than 350 donors rallied raising more than $205,000 for University of St. Thomas students on Giving Day. This Giving Day surpassed last year\u2019s Giving Day total by more than $100,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Giving Day is an annual initiative that unites students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends in supporting areas throughout the university such as annual scholarships, the arts, athletics and study abroad. “I loved the opportunity Giving Day provided for the community to come together virtually and rally behind our students. As a donor that supports multiple scholarships and programs across campus, it was great to have a one-stop shop to support the causes that are meaningful to me,” said Larry Massey, UST Board Member and President of the Scanlan Foundation.<\/p>\n

This year, a primary focus of Giving Day was student scholarship support through the CeltCare Fund, which helps students fulfill their educational goals during the COVID-19 pandemic. \u201cWe are navigating unchartered waters in philanthropy, and it was such an inspiration to see our community come together in support of our students,\u201d Dawn Koenning, Chief Development Officer for UST, said. \u201cOur students are facing such severe hardships, and we are simply blessed to be able to help meet some of their needs through Giving Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cullen Trust for Higher Education contributed to the tremendous success on Giving Day by offering several matching grants.<\/p>\n

The Cullen Trust for Higher Education is committed to meeting the needs of our community during this pandemic. We have a great desire to support the deserving students of University of St. Thomas and were delighted to be able to provide matching grants for this record-breaking Giving Day.

UST Unlocks Matching Grants from\u00a0<\/strong>Cullen Trust for\u00a0Higher Education<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the monies raised on Giving Day, the University unlocked five challenges with matching grants from Cullen Trust for Higher Education.<\/p>\n

Social Media Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n

50 people used the UST Giving Day Facebook profile frame and tagged “University of St. Thomas Alumni”\u00a0which added an additional $10,000 to student scholarships.<\/p>\n

Alumni Giving<\/strong><\/p>\n

100 alumni gave on UST Giving Day;\u00a0an additional $10,000 was donated to student scholarships.<\/p>\n

Faculty\/Staff Giving<\/strong><\/p>\n

50 faculty and staff gave; $10,000 was donated to student scholarships.<\/p>\n

First-time Donor<\/strong><\/p>\n

50 first-time donors gave; an additional $10,000 was donated to student scholarships.<\/p>\n

CeltCare Power Hour<\/strong><\/p>\n

People who donated directly to the CeltCare Fund between 10 am-noon received a 2:1 match!<\/p>\n
