As more students choose to attend UST, our ability to provide robust scholarship and programmatic support to propel this continued growth becomes increasingly critical. In alignment with Greater Things, the University of St. Thomas has been blessed with a transformative gift of $5.25 million from the Notsew Orm Sands Foundation.

\u201cThe Foundation is so pleased to be able to support the University of St. Thomas in this way\u2014an institution that meant so much to our dear Aunt Miriam Burnett and our wonderful cousin Charles Burnett,\u201d said Garfield Mitchell, one of the Foundation\u2019s trustees. Charles Ryland Burnett III, a renowned businessman, philanthropist, and world-record sportsman, was a cherished friend of UST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESTABLISHING AN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This generous contribution will establish the Burnett Family Leadership Endowed Scholarship, a resource that will benefit students for generations to come, and it will also strengthen the Burnett Family Distinguished Chair in Leadership, currently held by Dr. Timothy Furlan. The University is honored to be a recipient of this tribute in his memory celebrating his remarkable impact on our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ONWARD TO GREATER THINGS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University of St. Thomas is on the path toward achieving Greater Things, but we cannot do it alone. It is through the unwavering faith, commitment and generosity of our alumni, donors, and friends that we are empowered to realize these bold goals.
