Heart and Soul

Celebrating Extraordinary Giving

On Thursday, Oct. 24, the University of St. Thomas recognized members of the Major Giving Society and the Lillian & Stella Scanlan Society at the annual Heart and Soul Dinner, an elegant evening on the University’s Academic Mall. Beginning with cocktails at six and dinner at seven, the program recognized Major Giving Society members who had reached a new level in their commitment to the University of St. Thomas. To illustrate the profound impact of such giving, there was a special spotlight on UST’s Engineering Department, with engineering students providing tours of the upgraded facilities and answering questions. During dinner, guests learned more about the rapidly growing program which supports a diverse student body by educating, nurturing, and empowering them to be ethical leaders in the field of engineering.

THE MAJOR GIVING SOCIETY

The Major Giving Society recognizes donors who have made large contributions to the University of St. Thomas. Members of this prestigious society generously support UST’s mission through gifts that fund scholarships, endowment, capital projects, and operations. Thanks to their commitment to the Catholic intellectual tradition, the University continues to expand in its ability to instill in our students the core values of our founders, the Basilian Fathers: goodness, discipline, and knowledge.

THE LILLIAN & STELLA SCANLAN SOCIETY

Formerly the Heritage Club, the Lillian & Stella Scanlan Society is made up of individuals and families that have chosen to make a planned gift to the University of St. Thomas through their estate plans, retirement and life insurance beneficiary designations, or by establishing an irrevocable gift.
