\"UST<\/a>Have you ever wondered what happens to your college application after you submit it? Here at the University of St. Thomas, there are five steps in the admissions process. Keep in mind that other schools may process applications differently.<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Apply Online<\/strong>
\nProspective students can apply online via the UST website<\/a> or ApplyTexas<\/a>. If you apply through UST\u2019s website, we\u2019ll send you a confirmation email. Remember, UST requires a personal statement as part of the application.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Send Transcripts & Test Scores<\/strong><\/p>\n

Just because you have sent in your application does not mean your file is complete. Here at UST, we need your official transcript(s) for review, as well as official ACT or SAT scores if you are an incoming freshman. To make sure your application is reviewed as soon as possible, we recommend you request that those items be sent immediately from your high school or other colleges you\u2019ve attended. While we do not require letters of recommendation or resumes, we will accept them. International students have different requirements<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong> We Review Your Application<\/strong>
\nOnce the Office of Undergraduate Admissions has all of the required documents, the application will be reviewed.\u00a0\u00a0 Even though the office will start accepting applications the summer before your senior year, we will begin reviewing application in late October for the following year.<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Decision Time<\/strong>
\nAssuming all of the application materials were submitted in a timely fashion, an applicant should receive an official decision within two weeks, but it may take longer based on each individual\u2019s situation. We\u2019ll notify you by a decision letter in the mail within a few weeks.<\/p>\n

Step 5:<\/strong> Secure Your Spot<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are admitted, the next steps include submitting a $200 enrollment deposit and your immunization record to confirm you\u2019ve received a meningitis vaccination<\/a>. Admitted students will also be notified about financial aid and important dates such as registration and orientation.<\/p>\n

So there you have it. While these steps are typical for most applications, it\u2019s important to remember each file is reviewed individually so some other steps may apply.
